Roofing Tiles and Windows Installed!

It's been a while since I've updated my blog with new pictures but the wait is definitely worth it. The current pictures are amazing! I love using the stitch feature of Windows Photo Gallery. The best way to capture panoramic images like above is to piece them together. As you can see the rear elevation of the home is looking amazing with the roof installed and windows in. You can also see work being done on the chimneys.
An angled view of the SW corner of the house.
The picture above is from within my wine cellar looking out towards the web bar and play room/theater. You can see the fireplace has already been installed!
Roofing tiles are looking amazing. Gives the home a very Mediterranian feel with NW colors and flavor.
This is from the skybridge looking down in my Great Room. It gives you a look into my backyard through the windows as well as the Columbia River and Portland Airport.

Rear Elevation Panoramic

Here's another panoramic picture this time of the rear elevation. From left to right, master bedroom above with covered deck and basketball gym below. Center is great room bay windows. And right is the loft and Caitlyn's bedroom above and kitchen and nook below. Also on the far right is the covered terrace and outdoor kitchen as well as the infinity pool area which is currently empty.

New Panoramic Front Elevation

Framing is wrapping up this week with the final touches on the trusses and roof being worked on. The remaining detail framing will continue with arches, niches, staircases, etc... into the following week. With a warm wet winter expected, we'd love to get the home sealed up and dried out before we start the interior work. Right now, the rain has left everything soggy and wet. Nothing some time and a few heaters won't fix when the time comes.

The image above shows the full front elevation of the home. The three double garages on the left, the main entrance with a see-through view of the Columbia through the great room windows in the middle, and my dad's private retreat on the right.

Richard White has done an amazing job of designing this home with the beautiful roof lines, and Barton Brothers Construction has done a superb job of making that vision a reality with the very fine detail work of Sorenson's framers.

Not a lot of pictures to update with for now until the roof and windows go in. I should be updating more in a few weeks.

Framing Progress with Upper Level

The upper level exterior walls are coming together nicely. The weather has been perfect the past few weeks and it looks like good progress has been made. Standing in the backyard looking back shows an incredible look at the framing work in progress and the view from upstairs is even more phenomenal!
The large middle wall is the 2-story great room. All those windows will be necessary for the incredible view.
Enjoying the fact that I can currently drive my truck in my back yard...for now
Upper level looking accross the greatroom from my master suite to Caitlyn's room.
This picture doesn't do enough justice but standing in my master suite, high above the ground, and looking out accross the Columbia River is nothing less than breathtaking.
Another few weeks and we should see a roof. Hope the torrential rainfall doesn't begin until after we get the home wrapped up.

Main Floor Exterior Walls Take Shape

Framing is making excellent progress thanks to the weather. Exterior walls on the main floor are mostly up. Above is the nook. Can't wait to sit there, eating breakfast, reading the newspaper and looking out at the amazing views!
Kitchen and Nook walls and window openings.
Framer Jonathan Sorensen and builder Craig Barton discuss about the framing progress. Coming along nicely guys!
View from my exercise room, which also overlooks the basketball gym.

Framing of the main floor will continue next week and joists for the second floor should also begin. Won't be long before the second floor framing begins. Stay posted.
